AM-91 MENTAL ENVELOPE

In the last presentation, we focused on the Emotional envelope. It took two presentations, to be precise, to cover the attributes of this particular envelope, because of the central role it plays in all our lives at the moment. It is in the 48:1 permanent atom that most monads are currently focused when they come into incarnation. It is the activities of this envelope that govern the tenor, direction and focus of the monad, through the lens of its persona. There is, however, another envelop that serves a different purpose from the emotional envelope. Its job is not to weigh the relative merits of the pairs of opposites, its function is to think. We now come to the next envelope in our ‘Russian Doll’, the mental envelope.

As has been discussed many times, the mental envelope is split in two. One is called the mental envelope and the other the causal envelope. They are separated because they function on two separate triads, the 1st and 2nd. Today, we are going to deal with the ‘lower’ mental envelope. The first thing to notice when you examine this structure is that it is not as large as the emotional envelope. It only has four subplanes, to the emotional envelope’s seven. What is most strikingly missing from this envelope is a permanent atom. What makes a permanent atom important? The clue is in the word ‘permanent’. This structure survives the end of an incarnation and is eventually stored in the causal envelope. It is from this permanent structure that a new envelope is reconstructed at the start of an incarnation. Contained within this structure are a monad’s traits and habits, as well as all its subconscious memories. These memories stretch all the way back to the monad’s passage through the three lower kingdoms of Nature. So, if there is no permanent atom in this envelope, how does a monad reconstruct its mental envelope? The answer is that the highest vibrating molecule in this envelope takes the role of being a permanent  structure. This is why there are three permanent molecules in our three triads. In this case, the envelope being considered is split between two triad levels.

A permanent molecule or atom in an envelope can serve as a home for the monad as it evolves through the 4th Kingdom of Nature. In the case of most humans today, the permanent mental molecule is not the home of our monad. In the vast majority of people, it is the emotional permanent atom (48:1). For a lesser, but still significant number, it is the physical permanent atom (49:1). Does this mean that the monad does not have access to its mental envelope? Clearly not. If you can think, you have a functional and accessible mental envelope. In fact, the mental envelope first becomes active while the monad is still in the Animal Kingdom. In its last stages there, the monad activates the lowest mental molecule, 47:7. What a monad is not capable of doing is being objectively conscious in this envelope. The monad is only objectively conscious where it is focused. Even if it resides in the emotional permanent atom, this does not mean this is where it is focused. For a monad at the 2. Community Stage of its evolution, it is focused on one of the lowest three emotional molecules. If it has reached the 3. Cultured Stage, it moves its focus, sequentially into the three higher molecules. Anything above a monad’s functioning level of consciousness is experienced subjectively. Taking this into consideration, when you think, you are having a subjective experience in your head (mental body). You are not seeing your thoughts, even if they are physical elemental structures on the mental plane. You are not aware of them or the destruction they may be causing to yourself or others on that plane.

We can therefore conclude that for the vast majority of us, we may have a mental envelope, but we only subjectively experience it. This is even the case when we discarnate and start our journey back towards our causal body. Once we reach the mental envelope, we exist in a subjective bubble of our thoughts. If we can imagine the Emotional plane to be a paradise, as we wish it to be with our fantasies, then the Mental plane is Heaven. But this is getting ahead of ourselves. We are not dead yet, we are very much alive, so how are we able to use this mental envelope? Let us start by examining what each one of the four subplanes is capable of achieving if your monad is focused here. We start with the lowest subplane, 47:7, as I have already stated, this level of molecules started to vibrate when we were still animals. Clearly, the thoughts we have here are not going to be particularly refined. The kind of thinking that occurs on the 47:7 subplane is defined as ‘deductive’. One fact is deduced from another. There is no abstract thought going on here. If a mother tells her infant that the hairy object in front of it is a dog, then if the infant sees another hairy creature, it thinks it is a dog, even if it is a cat, because the infant deduced that being hairy is what makes an organism a dog. Deductive thinking is found most prevalent in 1. Young souls. These souls are focused in their 49:1 permanent atom, but deductive thinking carries forward into the youngest of the 2. Community souls as well. It is interesting to note that your children go through all the previous stages of development as they grow up, starting from the lowest, 47:7, deductive thinking. The scary thing is so much of Humanity does not progress much further than that!

The next subplane is 47:6. The monad focused here is capable of associated thinking. Now you have a dog and a cat, they are both hairy, but you can associate them not as the same species but as animals in general. You are now able to think “if it looks like a duck and quacks like one, then it is most likely to be a duck”. It is 2. Community souls that think in this manner. This helps them organise their environment more clearly but there can be unfortunate associations. This leads to racial and gender stereotyping. All men are ‘x’s’ or all women are ‘y’. Or all Irish people are ‘z’s’. In the case of the Irish, it is absolutely true! Since most of humanity are at the Community stage of their evolution, this is where most thinking is occurring. This makes life easy for advertisers. It allows them to associate their product with a desirable outcome and you simply have to buy the product.

Let’s get away from this subplane, it is depressing and move our game onto the 47:5 subplane. This is the home of the 3. Cultured person. You see a canvas with paint on it and you deduce it is a picture. This picture is hanging in a gallery and you, therefore, assume that it must be a significant work of art. What someone, functioning at the 47:5 level can now also do, is conceptualise what that painting is trying to signify. In the case of most modern art, that may be very challenging and the conclusions drawn, surprising, but the monad is now able to take something that is tangible and abstract meaning from it that is not obvious at first glance. In the case of modern art, it may not be tangible at the tenth glance either. This is where most of us are now living and breathing. We are able to conceptualise what we want to see out of life and if we apply ourselves, we have the possibility to realise our thoughts in a meaningful manner.

We now come to the top of the Mental envelope. Arriving here is a big deal. Why? Because, to start to focus through this molecular level and work with the elemental essences that populate it, we have to pass through the (i2). I have not defined all the initiations we take. Just realise that when a monad passes the (i2) and this is an automatic process, you do not sit a formal exam or anything, the monad just changes residence. It moves from its home in the Emotional 48:1 permanent atom to the 47:4 permanent molecule. The monad is finally detaching itself from the mess that is the Emotional World. It is directing its life through clear thought that then can gather emotional momentum, before finally making its way into our physical envelope. We are thinking before acting. This is a refreshing change. The monad that is capable of this feat has reached the 4. Compassionate Stage of its evolution and its thinking processes are now Universal, sometimes also called Systemic. You now have a monad, standing in a picture gallery, who can look at a painting and understand how art influences culture, that influences societal development, that leads to consciousness expansion.

Seeing the bigger picture is the springboard to reuniting the two halves of the mental body. What the causal body is and how we integrate it is going to be the subject for the next presentation.
