AM-136 DISCIPLE (4)

As promised, we now begin our categorisation of the stages a monad will traverse before they become an accepted disciple. It all starts when someone is not happy with their lot. They may not be uncomfortable in their existence yet they are not fulfilled either. Ideally, we all desire balance, certainty, security, harmony and happiness. If these things are not present, some seek to know the reasons why. Answers are often found in unresolved conflicts, grief, guilt and ossified modes of thinking. Very often there are conflicts between subconscious complexes. We have discussed where these conflicts often come from, past lives. Psychoanalysis may bring these complexes to the surface, allowing the person to establish a cause. Above all things, a person must develop stoic complexes of invulnerability, shielding them from attacks of hatred.

To liberate yourself from these negative aspects of life, one has to see them for what they are; illusions. There comes a time when wealth in the form of belonging and honours in the form of fame and power cease to have any “life-value”, as philosophers would call it. A monad does not come to this point in life as a young soul. It has thousands of incarnations behind it. It has acquired sufficient experience of life to know all these desires lead one nowhere. The soul comes to know their ignorance of what life is really about and they are prepared “to sell all that they have and buy the pearl of great price”. This pearl is the wisdom of life. Our soul knows now that there is another way, but what way? To find this way our soul becomes a “seeker”. This is the first step along the path, a path the monad will tread relentlessly until they find the “right way”, whatever that might be.

Where does the seeker run from? They come from a world where people think they know what they are talking about. They judge without having examined the facts. They are believers, not knowers. They constantly offend against the “2nd law of thought”: do not accept anything without sufficient grounds. Public opinion is not sufficient grounds, 99 times out of 100, this opinion is wrong.

If the seeker pursues further education, they have the opportunity to gauge the general understanding of Humanity at that time. If the seeker is an esoterician they may engage others with their views on reality and life. It is better not to criticise the prevailing dogmas, as this only arouses opposition and then your pearls get scattered to the winds. You are trying to make others reflect, not give them direct injections of esoteric knowledge. They have to desire this for themselves.

A true seeker is someone who does not reject anything without first examining it themselves. To have an opinion on something unexamined is to highlight one’s life ignorance. This does not mean we follow any prophet or apostle. We must examine the facts and make our own opinions, not go seeking others. What characterises the seeker after the truth, is that they are not believers. They shun the ruling ideologies, they are sceptical and they continue to seek the truth. Where does this inner compulsion come from, to seek further to find the answers? It is a manifestation of their subconscious self. This is not a repository residing in their brains. It is from a store of unresolved memories, located in their permanent atoms and molecule, going all the way back to their entry into the 4th Kingdom of Nature. As Laurency says, the seeker continues their journey for the “lost words of the master” or the “philosopher’s stone”.

So what do all seekers have in common? What they seek they have already met in a previous incarnation. When they meet it again, they have an instinctual understanding of the facts. These facts are not stored in their brains, they have to be reacquired by diligent study. This takes time but eventually, they are in a position to examine new facts and find they have the tools at their disposal to understand these facts as well.

Where does studying esoterics lead you? It leads you into the world of Platonic ideas, the Causal World, the world of real knowledge. With these ideas we worked up and integrated into a universal view of life, the seeker has now acquired the conditions of causal intuition.

There are two kinds of seekers. The first is someone who realises that their intellect is not going to give them all the answers and that current ideologies do not have the answers either. They start to look for the ‘real’ answers. They want to liberate themselves from emotional illusions and mental fiction. They are always seeking clarity. The other seeker also seeks knowledge but their purpose is to serve the processes of evolution. They do not seek knowledge for its own sake but to serve others with that knowledge. It is this second group that are the aspirants to discipleship, even if they do not know it yet.

We now understand better who a seeker is. They are unconscious aspirants to discipleship. They remain, seekers, as they realise that the current views of religion and science are speculative products of life ignorance. Laurency points out that many atheists and sceptics are unconscious seekers. They have sought and arrived at negative results.

It is worth reiterating here what the conditions for discipleship are. This stage is approached at the end of your sojourn through the 4th Kingdom. You have acquired all the qualities and abilities needed to move your consciousness into the next kingdom of nature. You are at the cusp of your emotional (48:2) and mental (47:4) envelopes. You should be able to achieve enlightenment (i3), within a limited number of incarnations.

As has already been mentioned in the last presentation, the Hierarch are not in the business of recruiting disciples just to help them pass into the 5th Kingdom of Nature. That process is an automatic one when we complete our journey through the Human Kingdom. As already mentioned, there are limited numbers of ‘civil service” posts in the Hierarchy. The Hierarchy are looking for co-workers to serve humanity. To “labour in the vineyards”. If you feel this is not your calling, then you are not a suitable candidate to progress to the next kingdom. Live a life where you automatically acquire essential qualities and abilities and entry into the 5th Kingdom is guaranteed in much shorter order. Remember, the Law of Development says we all have to develop, whether we like to or not. How long it takes us is the variable we have control over. By incorporating the consciousness of others into our consciousness, we expand our consciousness.

It is fair to say that all seekers are after certainty and clarity. They want the knowledge of reality. Having gained esoteric knowledge they want to reach higher kingdoms as quickly as possible and escape the wheel of reincarnation. We have to realise that these motives are driven by our egos. So, to summarise the banner over the door a seeker may wish to walk through, “The law states that only those can have the right to knowledge, who desire it in order to better serve and help others”. That is the one and only right motive. An individual is egotistical as an individual. We needed to go through this step to become self-aware. We left the security of a group soul to become responsible for our development. Having recognised ourselves as an individual, the next step is to enter back into a collective. This time we enter as a soul group, ceasing to be an isolated individual.

The next step along the path is for the seeker to become a fully-fledged aspirant, hoping to enter the path to discipleship. We shall review want exactly this entails in the next presentation.
