We started to discuss the formation and characteristics of the causal envelope. We realise that it is effectively the other half of the mental envelope. It gets called the causal envelope because it is located on the 2nd, rather than the 1st triad and the perspective it affords a monad is radically different from that found in the mental envelope. In the mental envelope, if you have reached this stage of your development, you can witness an event and see it objectively. You are also able to construct elemental structures that represent your thought forms and send them out randomly, or specifically towards a target in the Mental World. If you have shifted your focus, having taken the (i3), into the causal envelope, you do not just witness an event. You know all the steps that led up to this event. You know the cause of the event, hence the term ‘causal’.
If the causal envelope is an extension of the mental envelope, how do you go about thinking using the elementary matter found here? This is another one of those major differences between the Mental and Causal worlds. In the Mental World, your thought processes are logical and sequential. Once you have reached the 4. Compassionate stage of your evolution, your thinking may be Universal and Systemic, but it is still linear in its construction. In the Causal World, your thinking is abstract. You could say you are defining the cause of your idea, rather than just describing it. The elemental that is produced has been called a Platonic Solid. This structure is able to encapsulate not just one idea but the complete story you want to convey, starting from the introduction, all the way to the conclusion. It is strange to imagine that a physical shape can somehow represent an entire concept, but then it is difficult, at our present level of consciousness, to visualise a causal idea. I have mentioned that through the process of intuition, complete ideas just seem to pop into our heads. This is the start of gaining access to causal ideas.
What makes the Causal World so exciting, is the potential to general complete concepts. They can just float around until someone has an intuitive ‘bright idea’ on the Mental plane and thinks that they actually came up with it. They did not. That causal concept was, more likely than not, thought up by someone else doing the work and constructing the causal elemental. In fact, it is even more diffuse than this, because the core of those ideas does not even get generated in the Causal World but rather in the Unity World, 46. This is another rabbit that needs to be pulled out of the hat and I am not going to do it now.
I have talked so far about intuition and placed the existence of such ideas as originating from the 47:3 subplane. What goes on when you get to the 47:2 subplane? You still generate causal ideas on this subplane but rather than being called intuitional, they are called inspirational. Why? Because when a recipient of such a causal thought gets ideas from this subplane, they are inspired and this is an active process, usually guided by someone from the Causal plane or even higher. They are working directly with the monad receiving the idea. This is not you just receiving a bright idea, this is your guardian angel or a member of the Hierarchy trying to get a specific idea into circulation on the mental plane. This may then finally materialise as art, literature or a scientific concept in our physical-etheric world.
Just to recap; when your monad finally focuses itself in the 47:1 permanent atom, you have continuity of consciousness and you are almost a fully functional 1st-Self. You are, however, still not fully in charge of all your faculties. Your guardian angel is still running your show, even if you now consciously contribute to many of the events and processes that are occurring to you. So, now let’s look at what our solar devas are up to and where they are residing. Welcome to the Causal Lotus.
There is a lot of talk about the causal lotus in esoteric literature but what is usually not grasped, is that this lotus is the physical embodiment of our guardian angel, not one of them, but all 13 of them! Think of your causal lotus as a series of chakras. They are energy centres that link down into your lower chakras. Establishing direct contact in this manner is what unites our 1st and 2nd triads. The structure of this lotus is arranged as a series of petals, stacked in four rosettes, each rosette comprising of three petals. Remember, each petal is the physical manifestation of a solar deva. It comprises a single evolutionary mental atom, 47:1. At the start of our journey through the 4th Kingdom of Nature, the lotus appears as a closed bud. Over the course of thousands of incarnations, it slowly unfolds, as each petal is activated. Each rosette contains a Knowledge, a Unity and a Will petal. For a more detailed description of the form and function of these petals, see my previous presentations. One that comes to mind is presentation 38. The Mental Body.
Rather like the triad, the initial nine petals of the causal lotus have repeating structures both within each rosette and between the rosettes. So the lowest rosette is focused on developing a link between itself and the throat chakra. However, in this rosette, you also have a Unity and Will petal. On the next rosette, which focuses on developing the unity aspect within us, there are all three petals present again. This means that each petal has primary as well as secondary energies flowing through it. I have discussed these energies in the Adventures of the Monad series. The take-home from the structure and functioning of this lotus is that as it unfolds, links are made. They occur first between the causal per permanent atom, 47:1 and the mental molecule, 47:4. As the monad expands its consciousness, the 46:1 unity atom then links to the 48:1 permanent atom in our emotional bodies. Finally, a link is forged between the 45:4 permanent molecule and the 49:1 permanent atom. Notice how the unity and will petals, are related to the Unity (46:1) and Lower Spiritual (45:4) triad envelops. It is worth noting that the 45:5 permanent molecule, the highest envelope of the 2nd Triad, is linked to the lowest envelope, the physical envelope (49:1).
Once all these three links are made, we have reconstructed our triad bridge. Normal service is about to resume and we are on our way to departing the 4th Kingdom of Nature. But wait a minute, there are four rosettes in a causal lotus, what is the function of this last rosette? The connections have painstakingly been built up between the Knowledge, Unity and Will petals and our permanent atoms and molecule. It is only when the monad moves its focus, at the (i3), into the 47:1 permanent atom that the 4th rosette begins to slowly open. The higher and lower causal bodies now merge. Rather than the three lower principle bodies, the mental, emotional and etheric, being surrounded by just 5 per cent of our gained wisdom, we now have all our accomplishments with us at all times. Because we are now focused in our 47: 1 permanent atom, all the lower planes of our envelopes are objectively visible to us. We also no longer have a protective etheric web that separates our physical etheric brain from the activities in our higher envelopes. We replace the etheric web with one we construct and control ourselves. This is what happens when we raise our Kundalini and burn through this structure. If you accidentally short-circuit this structure by raising your kundalini prematurely, God help you.
When we take the (i4) and migrate into the 5th Kingdom of Nature, our 4th rosette, which is known as the Jewel in the Lotus, fully opens. I have talked about 4 rosettes and three petals per rosette, which makes 12 petals and therefore 12 solar devas. However, I mentioned 13 solar devas being linked to our causal lotus. This is because there is a head honcho, the 13th solar deva that marshals the other 12 devas and can focus its energy into any of the 12 petals. It is this deva that it is worth directly your prayers towards. It is this deva that is floating your boat and has the control of the rudder that is directing your ship of state, at least until you move into your Unity atom (46:1).
I reiterate that it is worth going back to my earlier presentations on all our envelopes and reading up or watching the presentations to get a more complete picture. That finishes my journey through the six envelopes that make up our 1st-Self. We have discussed the higher and lower causal envelopes, the mental, the emotional and finally the etheric and physical. Talking about the 1st-Self, let’s take a closer look at this structure. Oh, I am out of time, let’s do it in the next presentation.
